Nats Juniors & Cross Country Championships

Yo guys, sorry for the late update. Anyway, Nats Juniors will begin today (2nd April) and will last about a month. As usual, it's held on weekends, and this year, and probably in many years to come, it'll be held at Gombak Stadium, this little stadium located right beside Gombak MRT. I'll be going down this 2 days, as there's Triple Jump guys, and Long Jump girls on saturday and sunday respectively. Go to http://www.singaporeathletics.org.sg/ for the details.

And of course, the annual Cross Country Championships. It'll be on the 13th this month, held at Turf City in the afternoon. Interested personnel, please come down! Its a great sensation to see athletes running where horses used to race. (haha) Ok nvm. (=

Hey peeps, i thot this might be relevant to the community here: a pair of new running shoes up for sale at half price. Lemme noe if anyone interested k?

the email excerpt frm my friend:
"Hey, mind doing me a favour? i happen to have a pair of brand new Asics Gel Nimbus running shoes. It's a pair cushioned running shoes, men, US size 9, Navy blue. It's quite a good shoe. I think u may noe some guys who are into running. Do u mind helping me ask around for any takers?? Erm, i think u can be assured of the quality of the shoes, I am wearing the same pair myself. Oh, it costs $127, down from the usual $211 cos i got it frm a wholesaler, so it's quite a good buy too. I am left with this pair cos of some screwup in arrangements when I was getting a no. of pairs for my friends. Hehe, hope u can help. Thanks a million!!"

Leaving on a Jet Plane

On 13th Feb 2005, Meida, aka Muthu, Captain of Team Hwachong of 2003, flew off to Aust to further her studies in the field of physiotherapy.

On the day of her departure, quite a large crowd gathered to send her off. People like Calvin, Ming Bros, Xiaoying, Jialin, Dorcas, Pak, Xiaofeng, Yuanshuo etc etc all turned up to give her our best wishes.

Here's wishing her all the best in auzzie!

Sunset Bay Saturday Report

On a hot Saturday morning, 5 handsome guys, Jiexun, Yongming, Yuanshuo, Yujian, Chong Wee made out way to Siloso beach of Sentosa...They decided to go to Sunset Bay to book the volleybal court there, unfortunately Sunset Bay raised their prices. So they went down to Palawan beach instead. Being early in the morning, there was stil a free court.
Shortly after 1 more handsome guy, Joel, came and join them.

Chong Wee and Yuanshuo not happy?? Muz be Yujian, hahahaha

Later in the afternoon, more hunks and babes came to join their group. Yanni, Peiting, Alvin and Yicong were their names. They played volleyball and soccer in the glaring heat of the Sun.

And most of them became Chaota

Unfortunately, Alvin, Yuanshuo, Yanni and Yujian had to leave early and did not join the rest in a seafood dinner at Queensway Market.

Yr One Orientation

Well the team just held their orientation / ice-breaker session for the new year ones on 14th Jan 05. From the looks of it, this year we seems to have a bumper crop of j1s or is it sec 5s now..haha.

The 40 or so of them started with the standard ice breaking game of wacko followed by a game of H2O and a massive game of basketball (10 on 10 half court anyone?) After that the team together with David, Jiexun and me(Joel) went down to Plaza Singapura for a simple and cosy dinner.

By now I think some of you out there will be fairly interested in the composition of the team right? As a rough estimate, there are roughly 25-30 guys and 20-25 gals in the team now. For the guys team half of them seems to be throwers while for the gals there should be a fairly good mix of people across the different disciplines.

Well that's all for now and we will update you guys again once there's any news/ events concerning HCAA or the HCI Team . :)

Opening Address....well, sort of....

Today on a dry Thursday evening, Joel, Alvin and me had a meeting at the Student Lounge of NUS. We decided we needed an avenue to post updates for happenings within our Alumni. Yet at the same easy to access and manage. The old Hwachong website was kinda difficult because we did not have easy access to it. Also maintaining a website isn't really our forte.
And so after some brainstorming, we decided to use an informal avenue where everyone can read and enjoy. And thus our HCAA Blog is born!!
I've created a Tag-Board on the side bar. Feel free to use it to talk cock and sing song.
I will try to update whenever I can and add more content along the way. Such as photo albums. Hope to see more people read our blog. And join in the chit chat on the tagboard!
